As is the Aldi Bavarian hams.

I will check it out Alpha.

The stuff I bought is the best cooked meat I have had in a long time. Deliciously tasty and about 1/2 price of an inferior product in the 'better' supermarkets, I was a Supermarket Snob, but no longer.

Best of all when Lidl offer those Black Forest ham slices as one of their half-price weekend offers.

Buy half a dozen packets in Sept or Oct and they're excellent for covering a partridge or pheasant when roasting during the autumn.

I used to work with a bloke about 12 years ago who did most of his shopping at Lidl. He used to say how good their ham was even then.

Yes, the supermarket snobbery is long gone with me too. It's amazing how much you can save by shopping around.

However, I was in B&M today and as I went past an aisle fixture with my trolley I bumped into it and knocked something off.
When I looked down to see what it was I saw a sponge in a packet which had written on it (I kid you not) "Arse/Face Sponge".

I really couldn't believe it - and then began to long for being a snob again!
