Sad news about Fred. I'm sure he was one of many on the T y-phoo tea cards I collected.
Lovely to see dear old Mike England, back left, before his transfer to Spurs and cataclysmic tussles with the great Peter Osgood when Spurs played Chelsea.

raspberrybottom 20 Jul 15 20:40 Is that Keith Newton, third from the right in the back row?
Yes I think it is Keith Newton... thought it was Roy Vernon but according to wiki Else and Vernon missed each other at Blackburn by a year.

Here he is setting up 2 goals against Germany in 1970 in the World Cup.
We'd have won that if the great Banks had been in goal.

Hi Muntz, yes I noticed it in the local paper a few days ago.
What a striker he was for Avenue, and proved he could adapt at the top level with Derby. I saw him many times.

Good to see some references to the late and great Keith Newton.
If I'm not mistaken, he can be spotted in the middle of the scene if you were to freeze frame Banks' legendary save from Pele in 1970. Others include Alan Mullery (casually ruffled Banks' hair moments after the save), Bobby Moore (applauding in utter disbelief) and dear old Terry Cooper (left for dead by Jairzinho) on the wing. And of course Pele ..... GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL - oh **** :-)
