The Blue Cross charity centre in Cambridge has had to throw away 90 scratching posts and toys for cats that were soaked in drainage water after a torrential downpour on Friday.

All the  cats are safe. as are the 15 new kittens rescued from the nursery that got covered in sludge.

They are appealing for help to replace the posts and toys.

Sadly I have as much on as I can afford. Only 2 weeks ago ,I paid £55 for a pregnant stray to be spayed at an expensive local vet. Cat's Protection went half. Then handed £20 over towards vaccination fees to the Cat Rescue who took her in. Plus a tidy sum in monthly direct debits so no can do. Contrary to some belief I'm far from wealthy.
