He was involved in a high speed  straight on crash ,wet track  ,went under the back of tractor that was removing a previously spun off F1 ,seen them use long reach cranes from behind barriers but not on this  occasion ,there was big  impact resistant crash barriers but tractor was in the way ,should not have happened .
all the safety they put into the vehicle and track  was negated ,very unlucky RIP .

Thought it was looking ominous the way his father was talking about him earlier this week, so it's not a shock but it's still very sad. RIP.

Formula One driver Jules Bianchi has died in hospital nine months after crashing at the Japanese Grand Prix. The 25-year-old Marussia driver had been in a coma since October 2014 after suffering a diffuse axonal injury following a collision with a crane on the side of the Suzuka circuit.
Bianchi had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Nice, France but his family announced his passing in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A talented driver, sad loss

No idea who he was, not an F1 fan, but Eddie Jordan was on the news this morning saying he was a future world champion.

Didn't the Marussia team lose a female driver not that long ago, or are my memory cells playing up?

yes Marussias test driver Maria de Villota died after crashing into a parked truck at a test session

Has anyone seen  reliable sources saying whether he died naturally or the family decided to turn life support off?

He might have been a champion, plenty 'might have been', but at least in his case there seems to be some truth in it. He scored their only in points in the team's history, last year. Those points and the money that come with them in terms of the championship ($50 million) allowed the broke team to go racing this season, so they're only there because of Bianchi. He was a Ferrari young driver and would probably have ended up driving for them, so who knows?

Just putting 2+2 together, I think it is likely, given the father's radio interview earlier this week, that life support was turned off. He said they'd discussed what would happen should he end up like Schumacher. His father suggested that he wouldn't want to live if he were unable to race, so even 'well' in the usual sense, but physically incapable of racing, sounds like it would have been too much to contemplate.

I would say turned off as running out off cash , Schmacher is having to sell jets and all sorts to stay alive i read and think how wealthy he is/was

Report spellingandgrammarchecker • July 18, 2015 2:14 PM BST
If he is, he can apply for a Betfair account and post on the politics forum.

No won has the gramma like u 2 post der
Report Zazu • July 18, 2015 4:04 PM BST
Schumachers estimated wealth is $780million

He's still probably making more off his endorsement contracts than his health care costs....

Highly unlikely bianchi would have won a world title. 25 and Manor/Maurissa are by far the worst team on the grid. IF he got the Ferrari drive he'd still have been a double digit price to win title in next 5years.

Eddie Jordan said this morning that he was going to Ferrari next year, and also that he was a future world champion, but we won't know now.
