He isn't armed, he mocks you when you speak, he doesn't attack you, but you stab him, 8 times, and he dies.
It took 3 days for the jury of 10 women and 2 men to find the accused not guilty of murder, and giving a conviction of manslaughter by reason of loss of control.
Laydeez and gennulmen of chit chat...
What would your decision be on the bare facts, considering that the accused carried a knife to his home to 'speak' to him.
If you know of the case, or try to google it, don't let on what happened until after the verdict.
When I shall post more details of the case.
No long stories, or further questions, as the accused was plainly guilty.
The first 12 votes by different forumites will formulate the verdict.
For the sake of would be luvvie jurors, neither of them are black or asian.
You lot, the jury, are instructed to vote with one word only.

presumably you want the chitchat jury to convict the defendant of murder? you cannot judge it on the "bare facts" - that is a very bad way to try and deliver justice. |

On the bare facts as presented in the OP one might think that if the assailant went armed with a gun and shot him 8 times, or a hammer and hit him 8 times, then it would be prima facie evidence of intent to cause harm; therefore murder.

There's been an error in counting Manslaughter - 2 Murder - 10 So now we string the killer up? Or do we? Let me throw some things into the mix: 1. Neither the killer nor the victim were under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 2. They are both over the age of 18. 3. One of them is 45 years older that the other. Does anybody who did as they were asked, and voted with just one word, want to change their mind now? I'll be back in about an hour. |
