Peeling the stickers off is the way to go imo

for me the main criterion for a toy is that it is fun to play with, so on that score it will never be worsened imo

perhaps it might get shortlisted the educational toy category, but still no laydown - strong competition from the Merit microscope and chemistry sets

fun to play with .... the winner must be .... ahem ahem "Jazz" mags

A chess set or a pack of cards, in my opinion. Years of amusement.

chess isn't a toy, it's a mathematical workout dressed up as a "game"

When I was young I was hooked on Lego. Never bettered not even by a Meccano set.

When I was young I hated jigsaws. The most boring present on earth!

I now work with adults with learning disabilities and I love nothing more than sitting doing a jigsaw with them Love

It beats getting a proper job Happy

It's a lovely job Happy

Jigsaws are great, the more pieces the better. Obviously - a 2 piece jigsaw wouldn't be much fun imo Plain

Lego also a great shout

I'd forgotten that 'pleasure' MrB. I think that's when I swore for the first time.

I had "Trix" as a kid which was the main thing I played with without getting bored.

It was more versatile than "Meccano", as it had three rows of holes, and I think it looked better because it was all silver!

Got a jigsaw for my birthday.  Pretty pleased with myself.  It said 4-5 years - it only took me a couple of weeks.
