Bavalan Pathmanathan, 24, was playing in the British Tamil League at Long Ditton on Sunday when a ball struck him on the chest.
An air ambulance was called but he died later from his injuries.
Last November, Aussie batsman Philip Hughes died 2 days after being hit on the top of his neck by a ball.
Cricket is dangerous, and should be banned.

Do you know which sport is the most dangerous in terms of injuries as a proportion of the number of participants?
Underwater synchronised knitting for the over 65s.
Golf was often said to suffer the most deaths, mainly due to the advanced age of some participants.
Oh, I see the question relates to injuries not deaths. Probably not eventing then.
Sorry - I actually don't know the answer for sure. I thought i'd just ask. Bit of a stupid question really in so much as how do you define an injury?

I'd have guessed Bull Fighting or Rodeo/Bull Riding would be the most dangerous
Talking of Russian roulette I remember watching the deer hunter for the first time and thinking Robert De Nero getting the extra bullets in the gun was the smartest bet I had ever seen.
He was a million to one to get out of that vc bunker but he smashed the odds with a brilliant piece of thinking.
