Luke Gutteridge accidentally dropped a piece of orange  peel in the street.

He picked it up immediately and put it into a litter bin.

But that didn't stop the Council Jobsworth from giving him a £75 fine for littering.

Mr Gutteridge refused to pay and went to court.

The judge dismissed the case, leaving Hoddesdon Council with a bill for £8,000 legal costs.

Which they should deduct from the Jobsworth's wages, not pass on to the taxpayer.

Whatever happened to the policy of 'name & shame'? I've seen about half a dozen articles online and none of them mention this professional turd - why do these mutant eunuchs seem to have anonymity and instead they're always just referred to as 'jobsworths'? Confused

Such perverse zealots need to be exposed and treated as pariahs so everyone in the areas where they live can know what spiritless wánks they really are, and make their lives a nightmare!

This bellendry has to stop but sadly, I can't see it happening in our lifetime as there seems to be an endless conveyor-belt of non-negotiable ballbags eager to assert their 'authority' on us all!

PS - I would've picked up that segment of peel and rammed it up his hooter with a pencil...like loading one of those old-fashioned rifles!

It wasn't a Jobsworth though, it was numerous Jobsworths, any one of whom could and should have put an end to it. Every one of them should be facing disciplinary proceedings. The council can bullsh1t as much as the like about the judgement but 'clear intent' must be shown.

I have experienced this type of attitude on a couple of issues. Councils seem to repeatedly deny everything and then maintain they were right long beyond the bitter end.

I overlooked that John - they all cover each others' arses...but in this case the instigator should definitely have had his identity published for us to see.
I can't see a reason for the omission...especially when even witnesses to an incident are often named.

The loathsome Mrs Thompson, parking warden in Selby, where I visit regularly for my dental work, rose to fame after ticketing a hearse outside the library.

They were there to collect a body from a flat above but, in defense, when the undertakers challenged the ticket, said she thought it was an estate car.

This is the same woman, who I saw having a right good laugh with the owner of a Rolls Royce (another dentist), who was parked on the pavement
over "double yellers".
