The national game shouldn't have left terrestrial.

I agree with EO.
Rotten, sodding Murdoch ratbags. |

There's a good laugh at the moment on Radio 5 - an Ashes Quiz with ex Brit and Aussie players and suchlike.
By:
feels like the lowest key build up to an ashes series since england were getting routinely thrashed in the early 2000s
suppose it doesn't help clashing with wimbledon and that no one gives england much chance |
By:
Loads of stuff on Radio 5 and TalkSport for the last couple of weeks about The Ashes, Makeking - including a great interview on the Colin Murray show this morning with THE Tommo, who was a great laugh.
There's a new sense of optimism about England's chances since the NZ matches. Flintoff even reckons we're going to win! |

England WINin the Ashes pub quiz!
Hope that's an omen for the Series! |
By:
- that should read WIN - not WINin!

By:
don't get me wrong it doesn't indicate any lack of enthusiasm on my part. going down to cardiff on thursday and edgbaston too. maybe the oval if we're still in with a shout
By:
If we prepare seaming pitches we might get away with a 2-2 draw.
The first couple of days will be crucial . Would take a draw in the first test. |

Think the Home side are in with a great chance of upsetting the Aussies..new found optimism after the N/Z series had me taking the 4/1 on offer for a ton..looking forward immensely to this series. As an aside top batsmen bet lovers should make their way to Boyles who offer money back(as a free bet) for a nifty max if Root or Warner top score for there respective countries.

I think a great bet is to back England + 1.5 tests at evens. I keep topping up anyway.
Cant see the predicted 3,4,5-0 happening here. Aussies nae that good imo |
By:
i'd agree with that. england are almost always very hard to beat at home and this aussie side is not that great
they'd be annihilated by the aussie sides of the 90s and even england from 2005 or 2010/11 would beat them them comfortably imo |
By:
Buttler, Stokes, Root and Ballance great young prospects.
By:
They're nearly off. Sky Sports 2, for some of us.

By:

By:
Was it such a good idea to bat first in damp overcast conditions?
Might see a few early wickets. |
By:
is that nasser hussain singing?
By:
gower talking over the pop music
poor form |
By:
Bell putting as much effort into singing the National Anthem as Rooney does.
By:
I though not myself, Foinavon. I'd have had a bowl.
By:
First one down already.
By:
TMS fully 10 seconds behind 'live' pics..
Extremely disappointing with Atherton commentating.. |
By:
TMS are ahead of live pictures, shirley!?
By:
I guess you're listening online, not from the radio. Radio probably 3-4 secs ahead of Sky, otherwise I'd listen to it.
By:
Ye would think so, but they aint.
26 secs behind now. |
By:
Online that is..
WTF is a radio, btw? |
By:
Listen to the wireless then, you get it live.
By:
Also Sky high defintion is behind normal Sky
By:

Foinavon and I knew. FIELD |
By:
TMS (online) is 26 secs behind Sky HD..
By:
I know it's miles behind as I listened to it this morning.
The 2 Yorkshire lads digging in. |
By:
They need to.
Never known TMS that slow, usually a second or so.. |
By:
Root thinks this is 20/20 lol
23 off 16 |
By:
Root and Ballance restoring the... ahem ... balance, now.
A good contest full of interest. |
By:
I still would have bowled.
By:
If the other pitches coming up are manufactured to this level, then drop ding dong and play 2 spinners.
