Binned my Sky Sports and was thinking of getting one of those Android boxes you plug into your TV.

I've been doing a bit of reading on the internet, and I get conflicting reports.

Is it possible to watch Sky Sports and BT Sports on these things, or is it just dodgy streams? Some say yes, others say no.
Also, can you buy them pre-loaded with all the good channels, like Sky, BT etc?

Finally, any recommendations as to which model to buy, software I mmay need etc, and can you record from them like you can on a Sky+ box?

Cheers.

yes, buy an Amazon Fire Stick @ £35 in Argos and sideload Kodi, can be done in a couple of hours. If you don't fancy doing it, you can buy them pre loaded for £42, not sure where tho. I done it myself in a few hours.

I don't have a USB port on my TV, so a Fire Stick is a no no.

Can't help you then but the streams are only as good as you can find online, still I watch most things in HD

XMBC points to the streams which are hosted online. You can get all those channels but they come and go and the quality isn't great, watchable but not great if you are used to HD.

I primarily use Kodi/XMBC for 3pm kick-offs. I'm not a film buff but you'll find literally any film you can think of on there too.

re fire stick:
you do not need an usb port.
it comes with a hdmi cable that you need to hook to the tv set

then navigate to the system menu and follow the instructions (kodi or not).
the kodi installations are being done via wi-fi.

It's basically what you get online but users an it's own interface to make it more like a TV experience. Also cuts out all the adds/pop-ups and malware you get from streaming sites.

Well worth the purchase.
