And the Japanese were equally well behaved when one went against them. Very refreshing to watch a tournament so devoid of cheating, swearing, posturing, cynical fouling, diving. Aside from one dreadful dive with no-one within 3 feet of the girl - might have been the Germany France match.

That didn't end well for England.

I layed the draw at 1.71 with 25 minutes left.

Due to adverse atmospheric conditions, I lost my television signal with under 10 minutes left to play. It takes my Freeview box 8 minutes to tune in again, so I left it. 

When the draw was at 1.17 betting was suspended I thought somebody had scored, but then it opened again.

When the price had dropped to 1.06 betting was suspended again, but still no goal had been scored, and the market opened again.

In a sudden rush of numbers Japan went 1.01 the draw went to 50 and I knew I'd won my bet.

But when I saw this morning how England had lost, I felt sorry for that girl.
