I live in Somerset. Why on earth would I want to waste a week anywhere else?
By:
I like to visit the Lake district and the Peak district...beautiful scenery, nice traditional pubs suits me fine.

Eastbourne is beautiful, but too sunny.

By:
Gstaad for a month during the winter and New York for three months in the summer.
By:
New York must be hell, although I like Americans.

It's lovely where I stay, a small town called Red Hook.

Love parts of Scotland but the people are ghastly.

By:
dont go to drumchapel
By:
Never thought of it that way. Anytime I have ever been to Salou it was always people from Scotland and the north of England there.
By:
Don't think Drumchapel would appeal to many of us as a holiday destination .......
By:
We've got a villa in Menton, nice location and the cost of living significantly lower than Monaco

southerenrs have more of a reason to holiday in the south west of England, Cornwall etc as it's nearer for starters - Northerners go to Spain as they NEED the sun more - north of England 'summers' are terrrrible.
additionally the working class folk of wherever prefer Tunisia ,Benidorm etc ,southerners with good incomes will travel further afield -or if in Europe, classier destinations such as Corsica,Italy,Menorca etc where you don't get drunken louts and tattooed 18 stone women with Barnsley accents ![]() |

Cumbria, when we can get away.
By:
Margate innit surely?

anywhere that doesn't appear in a First Choice brochure.
By:
Cumbria is a lovely part of our country...Love going there and there are some still hidden gems that are quite amazing. Away from these shores, Gozo is my pick these last years but looking for something different next year cos when I am in Gozo I could be anywhere by a pool. Cumbria, we tend to explore a bit more. Chalk and cheese really!

Lake District is a beautiful place

Keswick is the place to go if your a dog lover.
You can take them in all the pubs and shops. |

By:
I used to live in the Lake district the best time of the year is the autumn...most of the tourist have pissed off being the main attraction.
By:
I go to the SW. Devon, Dorset or Cornwall. Parts of Cornwall are as nice as anything in Europe.
By:
Too busy working, pay horrendous taxes so you northern monkeys can get your yearly fix in Ibiza.

..ded up in rehab. Geordies are all nutjobs. I have got a holiday booked to Goa after the Summer. I've never been before but by all accounts it's a good spot. Fantastic weather, deep sea fishing, golf, curries, Cobra beer and fair maidens aplenty apparently. I'm good to go with all of that.

By:
didnt you go to brissie recently slippy?
By:
No, I had to alter my plans G1 as my mate's wife has been seriously unwell, a 50/50 job but she is out of danger now just about. Wasn't appropriate to turn up with me on the party bus so am going to Goa instead with family and friends.
