Yes, egner. It's a very natural, country garden.

lovely...

..a lesson for everyone...ditch the chemicals...and put up with a few "weeds"...although said weeds can sometimes be just as beneficial as anything else.

I'm a farmers lad, MD. They don't bother me as such, they kill pests and pesticides kill them. Not as many as wind farms though. My mother hates them..

Not much bat action out there.

Wind farms are terrible things Sad

I hope they weren't vampire bats which can carry rabies.

That's why the Ma hates them. She was attacked by them in some god forsaken South American country when she a teen..

I saw a BBC documentary about natural China recently. Gosh, the number of them in one cave was quite frightening!

We've had a few flying about here ever since we moved here in 2006.

But only seen one this year. Sad

If it's one of the same pair, I've no idea how long they live.

Mrs SAGC calls her Betty. Happy

MD,

Just to let you know that Side Glance and The Package have been retired. Side Glance is going to 'Retraining of Retired Racehorses' - he's going to be a show horse apparently because of his good confirmation and he stands out as a black horse.

Bats are a wonderful sight, whizzing around at dusk, on an insect holocaust.

Not so wonderful whizzing around in ones living room!

I got back from squash, and there is one going mental in there, and in and out of my home office.

Not sure if it flew in, or got a lift from me, but had to be dealt with, so I took it out with the second very stylish back hand.

The irony is that the racket was called "Black Bat"!

I like bats. We have a tree at the end of our garden with hundreds in. No one really takes care of their gardens where the tree is, most just let nature do its thing, which seems to be the best thing if bats are a sign of a healthy ecosystem.

Whilst at the same house we had a solid fuel boiler.

I took out the tray to empty the ash, and there was a pile of teabags behind it (or so I thought)!!!

Taking them out, they were all bats, and they are very small when the wings aren't extended!
