As for How does it help "today's and tomorrows victims"
Try asking his 'victims' that.. |

She will not resign and if the judge decides that he' s fit to be tried she will have to be fired.
|

Major U-turn, but absolutely the right thing to do. Apparently there was enough evidence before to prosecute him for 22 offences but not charged due to his dementia. So put those claims and evidence of child sex abuse to a jury !
|
|
By:
Next step aiui is the judge decides whether Janner is fit to plead, so if the judge rules Janner is demented, then the case will stop right there and there will be no trial.
|
|
By:
why cant 'demented' people stand trial
![]() |
|
By:
Some peeps just don't read.
There will now be a trial - based on facts |
|
By:
Janner has been visiting the Commons lately "on business" so he is certainly well enough to work
devious tw4t |
|
By:
full respect to Labour MP, Simon Danczuk for not giving up on this.
Good to see - I salute you. |

his daughter said on the big question a couple of months ago that 93 year old oscar groning should still go to trial for war crimes despite being ill........bet she wish she had not opened her gob
|

By:
OP statement is incorrect .
As far as i am aware Janner has not yet been charged ,he has been deemed unfit (by who and what medical process? ) he cannot be charged or stand trial without lot of legal wrangling ,even if a judge says he is fit this decison will probably be challenged, unlikely that it will go down that road and a trial of facts will proceed . Not sure but i dont think there will be a jury and all non proven eveidence will be ignored/discarded thats how i see it ,news medai (bbc) just offering lip service with inaccurate reporting . I hope i am wrong ,hope the judge says he is fit and he is charged and faces the music . i base this assumption on the case recently in Scotland of Paul Ward accused of murdering Jean Cambell ,he was deemed unfit ,hearing of facts commenced with no jury ,all evidence cited as circumstantial and he was detained in carstairs for 6 hours . They just make it up as they go along |

By:
Following on from that Cardiff, Janner criticised the justice system for excusing an alleged Nazi war criminal from facing trial because he suffered from dementia. Greville Janner should therefore face trial given the amount of evidence there is available to the CPS to bring a case against him. The news is something for the victims of alleged child abuse that they can see justice finally being delivered.

No chance of him going to prison. |

Just for breadnbutter and anyone else. I will not repeat this again.
There will be a trial of fact even if the **** is deemed not fit to plead. The ruling means Janner will face a trial of the facts, where a jury hears the evidence against an individual considered too ill for a full trial. This is expected to be held into the 22 offences allegedly committed in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The decision follows a review of the case under the CPS victims’ right to review scheme, which allows people to have their case looked at again no matter who in the CPS took the decision not to prosecute. The review, by David Perry QC, concluded that it was in the public interest to bring proceedings before a criminal court. The 1st hearing will take place at a Magistrates court in August. |

i think Janner will now be visited by the same doctor that allowed Leon Brittan to slip away quietely.

did you even read my post g2d ?
its not a trial its a airing of evidence ,no jury ....diff requirement of proof and even if the judge finds there is truth in the allegations there is no conviction . i wont say it again g2d ...they make it up as they go along and the press helps them ,a trial based on facts .....is that unlike other trials based on err ...fiction ? Usually a trial sifts the facts from the fiction but a trial based on Facts ,IE predetermined facts is a diff kettle of fish . Obection me lud ,sustained ,objection me lud sustained ,............. The courts can only rely on the social work people and court appointed psychiatrists ,they will direct the judge ,the judge does not have the judicial knowledge to deem him fit |
|
By:
So it's not a trial, but called a trial based on facts? Which is what my opening post said. Are we not being a tad pedantic?
|
|
By:
i think hes being charged because despite claiming dementia, has been driving his car and clocking into work to
claim tax payer funded allowances should have retired and kept his head down (nap) |
|
By:
i dont think he has because it never passed CPS
|
|
By:
Give him to Isis ,they will remove his head JOB done, cant stand trial with no head ..
