The problem with lefties they need poverty to exist to exist, so they make up the rules.
Report mobo June 25, 2015 11:09 PM BST
THERE SIMPLY ISN'T ANY
Report Ibrahima Sonko June 25, 2015 11:17 PM BST
I doubt that, but the poverty that does exist is because of crap parenting.
Report naydam June 25, 2015 11:27 PM BST
Surely, that would be deprivation. The state supports the child to a very comfortable level, financially. As you say, it is the parents (if you can call them that!).
Report DANTHECHIP June 26, 2015 12:17 AM BST
Agree , doesn't exist, put about by Guardian reading lefties. Tax Credits, Child Care Vouchers, not available to post war rationed community's.
Report alun2005 June 26, 2015 12:32 AM BST
There is NO poverty in Britain.
Report bodil June 26, 2015 12:37 AM BST
The definition of poverty in the UK was constructed by a group of (educated middle-class) people who made a good living out of it.  Pity they didn't do a better job from their point of view as it increases in good times and decreases in bad times.  Faintly embarrassing.

show me a starving child in this country - go on!!!

Now if you said parents had starved a child I would believe that.  But generally there are no starving children here.

Poverty?
Don't make me laugh.
My father brought up in a working class background in the 1920s and 30s told me enough about poverty to make me realise that we all live in total luxury these days.
Child poverty now is not being able to afford the latest trainers.
In those days it was not being able to go to school because it was not your turn to wear the one pair of Daily Mail boots shared by 4 children.
