I was going to ask how it was farther south. Just caught some tennis from "Queens", and it wasn't looking like they had a scorcher.
The crazy thing is that we are usually more fortunate but this is the third year with a similar pattern.
We actually had three warm days on the trot in April, and four good days in May.

north of england is pants for weather ,we all know that besides the longest day doesn't mean anything anywhere in the UK - last year the shortest day was almost the same temp as the longest day last year - never mind also sunnier despite the daylight hours ,move south if you want better weather generally - Yorkshire nice enough otherwise - everyone else should note UK isn't just one tiny micro climate
23.5 c average high in july where i am for example,and 16 i believe in north west Sc0tland,big difference ,same for sun. Rainfall a horrendous difference between say Swansea and Colchester too.

will say i have got my heating raging at the minute ,temp drops like a stone after 7pm
south east nights are the COLDEST you will get
north west and scotland nights far far warmer at ALL times of the year
SUFFOLK has the coldest nights in the UK apparantly,colder even than Inverness
