The founding father of the EU, Jean Monnet, said the PROJECT must be done without the people being aware of what is happening. They also refer to the "post democratic era" when all member states are reduced to regions, 12 in the UK, and are ruled from Brussels with the unelected EU Commission being the government. Appointed officials will oversee the regions with no more elections.

"Europe's nations should be guided towards the super-state without their people understanding what is happening. This can be accomplished by successive steps, each disguised as having an economic purpose, but which will eventually and irreversibly lead to federation." Jean Monnet (Founding Father Of The EU in a letter to a friend 30th April 1952)

did anyone see ITV news and can confirm this.......

"Last night on ITV news there was an interview with Martin Schulz and when the reporter asked him about DC aiming for a better relationship with the EU Martin Schulz replied 'the UK doesn't have a relationship with the EU, it belongs to the EU'."

What amazes me is some people have yet to cotton on to the fact, that the EU is nothing more than a modern day empire. The same people are often anti nationalist yet are pro imperialist

Interesting regarding Jean Monnet.

I studied economics at a Russell Group university, and the European Economics module in 2nd year was sponsored by the EU under the Jean Monnet fund.

I slammed the Euro (as was then proposed) as a non-optimal currency area in my 2nd year exams and got a 3rd in that module, but got 1sts and 2:1s everywhere else.

The lack of left wing opposition to the EU confuses me. Any questioning gets you lumped in with the far right.

One of my mates loves mass immigration, thinks unlimited numbers should be brought in, yet at the same time is p1ssed off that big business won't pay him the living wage. Because the minimum wage can't be undercut in purely monetary terms, he doesn't think it's a problem and can't see a connection.

Most Labour MPs voted against joining the Common Market in 1972. Even as late as 1983 Michael Foot's left-wing election campaign called for complete withdrawal from the EU. The British public was having none of it and he was humiliatingly defeated.

The change came in 1988, when Jacques Delors addressed the TUC and told them the EU would regulate employers, cut working hours and boost benefits.

I vividly recall shortly afterwards having an argument with a social worker in which I was complaining about the difficulties faced by those trying to improve the welfare of livestock exports, with Brussels insisting that all countries must abide by barbaric Continental standards. When I suggested that this might be a good reason to leave the EU, I was told that my concerns were irrelevant. Regulation of working conditions was all that mattered. The promises set out by Delors had caused Brussels to replace Moscow as the Promised Land.
