Just didn't care for the characters or the genre.

The first few episodes of Game of Thrones are setting the scene.

After 4 or 5 episodes the story really gets going.

I'm obsessed by it.

Hmmm...may give episode 3 a go.

I promise you by the end of the first series you'll be hooked.

I so nearly gave up like you did after 2 episodes.

For me it's the best thing I've ever seen.

Ok, I'll have a look now to fill the void left by BB.

Well I thougt the first episode was brilliant!

I'm tempted to watch another but It's getting late and I want to have a good read in bed.

Mr Makybe is away till a week tomorrow so I will have plenty of time to watch them.

I will order seasons 2 and 3 tomorrow. I don't want to run out!

I have watched the first 4 episodes of Season 1 and I'm hooked

The writing and acting is brilliant. The Americans are so good at stuff like this.

As for Game of Thrones, while it wouldn't be for me, I am sure it is an excellent series. Certainly not sh*t.

The last scene in the last episode of GOT really shocked me.I thought Lena Headey who plays Cersei Lannister was incredibly brave to perform that scene.My heart went out to her watching it.

Just the final episode of Season 1 to watch. Busy tomorrow so I will keep it until Wednesday.

Hopefully some more will have arrived by then.

Just finished watching Season 1 of Breaking Bad. Loving it!

Season 2 should be here tomorrow.

We've finished them now. My wife loved it too, and just wanted to keep watching it, but I wanted to ration it out a bit to make the series last longer. Started watching Better Call Saul now.

Saul is a crooked lawyer who gets involved with Walt & Jesse. Better Call Saul is his advertising line.

Season 1 has seven episodes and Season 2 has thirteen!

His narrative arc is not only stupendously well conceived but given his circumstances quite believable and brilliantly portrayed by Cranston and may I say you ain't seen nothing yet.

He will be back Sunday so I will slow down after that.

It took me 6 months to get through The Sopranos.

The brilliant thing about BB is that you watch an episode and when it ends you just sit there not quite believing what you've just witnessed. Then you think, a) there's no way they can better that, b) where can the storyline develop from this. And then it does develop ( and how ) and gets better and better. Incredible writing,filming,acting and direction.fully deserved of every critics plaudits and award won.

one of reason i like it is it can often( speak for myself here ) wrong foot the viewer. countless times ive guessed who is in on it, from start thought hank was a wrong un, even thought gustav was a good un.

I've just finished Season 2. What can I say?! 

How on earth do the writers come up with this stuff. It's so clever, I have never known so many twists and turns.

It's brilliantly acted and the filming is brilliant also.

I will take tomorrow off and start Season 3 on Wednesday. Will now only be watching a few episodes a week.

So where it goes from here I can't even begin to imagine.

Just noticed a new channel on Freeview, channel 31 called Spike. They are most of the way through series 5 of Breaking Bad. I'm assuming they will just loop back to series 1 when it's finished.

I just finished series 2 last night, gets better and better but I'm also wondering how the story can develope any more (no spoilers please)

There are two parts to Season 5. The second part of Season 5 is called the Final Season.

I have a long way to go. This should keep me entertained right through the summer. It could even take me up to the Charie Hall Chase

Very enjoyable series though and glad I watched it.

An excellent series - the only one that comes close for me is Deadwood but it takes a while to get into the swing of it

I finished Season 3 of BB, yesterday.

If it weren't for knowing there was more to come I would have been thinking Walt had had his chips at the end of the final episode. It was so exciting!

I am having a week to catch up with other things on my recorder box and will start Season 4 next week. This is brilliant. The best TV ever!

Just finished it having religiously recorded every episode on Spike,very good and obviously grips you,likewise won't give anything away however The Sopranos would still get my vote as number 1 and I comfortably was wanting Tony to succeed in The Sopranos more than Walt in BB,still a fantastic series even if pretty implausible at times but isn't most good stuff?

I really enjoyed Breaking Bad but without giving anything away I thought it went on a bit too long with everything happening once too often.

Recommendation for Chit Chatters: "Wayward Pines"

It's like "The Prisoner", a secret agent is trapped in a town he can't get out of. Matt Dillon stars and I'm hooked after 3 episodes. It's only 10 episodes long but a further series may be planned. Got 8/10 from critics.

watching sons of anarchy now as its on sky box sets, bit slow but beginning to grow, nowhere near bb though.

I haven't started series 5 yet either, probably because I know there's no way it tops series 4.

Wayward Pines was ok, nothing more, a bit cringey in parts. 6/10 for me.

I think Wayward Pines is great although does get a bit far fetched. It's had some good twists and I feel there is more to come. The overall plot doesn't get revealed until midway through the series (which I wasn't expecting), I'd be interested in reading the books after this.

I've been diverted from BB while I binge on this. I'm on to episode 7, there only was 10 episodes but another series is rumoured.

I watched Season Five last week.

I have started on the Final Season. I only have 4 episodes remaining

I'm now going to watch another one. Will be sorry when it has finished.

I have really enjoyed this. More so than The Sopranos, tho' that was brilliant too.

waiting for wifey before we watched last episode, flicked through channels and saw on BBC3 Stacey Dooley doing a show called (I think) Meth and Madness in Mexico.  Thought I was watching an episode of Breaking Bad.

BB is real life ... where will it end?

I love The Sopranos, watched it so many times I probably need professional help. Always considered it the best if nothing else because any show that has regular characters as painfully annoying as AJ, Meadow, Carmela, Tonys mum, Janice and yet still be top viewing must be doing right. Struggle to find many characters in tv history with funnier lines than Uncle Junior!

Enjoyed Breaking Bad but never felt the need to watch it again, it's a very slow burner but some of the episodes are as good as anything i've ever seen and make it worth it. Skyler is annoying as hell though and Walt Jr must be one of the most pointless characters ever.

The Wire is a classic, runs The Sopranos very close. Think the season that focuses on the newspaper stops it from being the best but that's just my opinion and even then it was decent enough. The schools part didn't do anything for me either but I suppose it was an important part when you take the show as a whole.

Game of Thrones is enjoyable even if the storyline is a bit daft and there's a lot of stuff just for the sake of it. The latest season was dull viewing for 6 or 7 episodes and I felt like throwing the towel in, but then comes up with a couple of belters.

Sons of Anarchy flits between being entertaining and laughably bad. A show for the sort of people who watch Channel 5. Charlie Hunnan is an awful actor, that hard man swagger thing he does makes me cringe.

I have had Homeland Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD for a while but never got round to watching it.

As for the swearing issue. the swearing in Breaking Bad was expected and didn't bother me but I am just watching Through The Keyhole, from last night. The F  word is being used freely by the panelists, including Sue Cleaver

It sounds horrible and is completely unnecessary in a programme like this. If they say it again I will switch it off in protest.

Mad Men starts showing from season 1 tonight on the amc channel (sky 192). 10.30pm

Oops! I have just realised that you can only get the amc channel via sky if you subscribe to their sport pack. The only other place to watch it is if you get BT TV (whatever that is?).

There is another new program starting tonight on amc that looks quite good called "Rectify".
