A 17-year-old from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, is thought to have become Britain’s youngest suicide bomber after leaving home to join Islamic State in March. Talha Asmal, who is believed to have reached Iraq via a holiday flight to Turkey on 31 March, blew himself up in the northern Iraqi town of Baiji.

The Guardian reports that the suicide attacks are understood to have occurred in Iraq’s Salahuddin province, around one of the country’s largest oil refineries, as part of a larger IS offensive.

On Saturday evening social media accounts linked to Islamic State (IS) released pictures related to the bombing. Those photographs are now being investigated by West Yorkshire Police. They showed four suicide bombers, one of whom was named as Abu Yusuf al-Britani.

A smiling Britani is shown standing beside a black Toyota SUV and sitting on the ground while apparently receiving instructions from a commander. West Yorkshire police have not yet publicly confirmed whether Britani is Asmal. The remaining three Islamist extremists are believed to be German, Kuwaiti and Palestinian.

The Mirror reports that Asmal/Britani boarded his flight to Turkey with his 17-year-old friend Hassan Munshi more than two months ago. At the time the pair’s families described them as “two ordinary Yorkshire lads” with promising futures “who enjoyed the things that all young people enjoy at their age.”

Breitbart London previously reported that Hassan is the younger brother of Hammaad Munshi. He became Britain’s youngest convicted terrorist following his 2006 arrest at the age of 15 over his role in a plot to murder non-Muslims. He was found to have been stockpiling terror guides, including files from the internet about making napalm, detonators and grenades.

The Munshis are grandsons of prominent Islamic scholar Yakub Munshi. Thought to be a senior figure at Dewsbury’s Markazi Masjid, Yakub Munshi was reportedly the driving force behind the creation of Dewsbury’s first sharia court.

In 2006, The Daily Mail linked the Markazi Masjid to Tablighi Jamaat, “a radical Islamic movement believed by intelligence agencies to be a fertile source for recruiting young extremists.” At the same time The Times stated that French intelligence labelled the group an “antechamber of fundamentalism” and The Telegraph wrote of it under the headline “Army of Darkness.”

The previous youngest British suicide bomber, Hasib Hussein, was 18 when he exploded a bomb on a London bus in the ‘7/7′ attacks of July 2005. He was also from West Yorkshire.

My personal opinion as an Atheist.

There is a caliphate that wants to convert and kill infidels. We are the infidels.

We have to send troops and crush these bastards. I know a few Muslims that are genuine people but they cannot take over.

Sorry if I sound a bigot but people need to be secular.

The luvvies spent the 60's, 70's and 80's convincing a mildly religious (births, deaths and marriages) country that we really needed to be a secular society and any fuss about religious satire was childish nonsense. What a complete volte face they undertook when the mussies started wailing. Now the poor luvvies are like rabbits in headlights. They don't know if they need a shiit, shave or haircut.

Enoch Powell was an Ulster Unionist, he foreseen the problem. His view may have been racist but it was correct.

I'm an Ulster Unionist but I'm a pragmatist. It's hit the fan now how do we deal with it?

Stop giving concessions to any mosque builds or Islams concerns. I'm anti religions but Islam is vile.

Blowing oneself up..takes some courage

People do not do this unless they have a committed cause

We need to find out the cause and why young men feel the need to do this

Unless we start some degree of intelligence, nothing will ever be solved

It is all part of islam  read the good book - it's all there.   The inventor was a bloodthirsty maniac who wanted total control and the love for young people comes directly from him.

- where's your son?

- er, he's gone on holiday.

- where to?

- he got a flight to Turkey.

- two weeks away with his mates is it?

- er, don't think so.  He's been gone for two months.

- aren't you worried about him?

- no, he's a straight a student.  Typical Yorkshire lad.  He'll be 'reet.

Astonishing that parents can allow their children to disappear for months on end, with apparently not even the slightest concern for where they might be, or who with.  I just don't believe the parents could be so detached from their offspring's lives that they can turn into terrorists in their bedrooms without them even asking a few simple questions or raising concerns within their own communities.  They are either appalling parents who shouldn't be allowed to have children, or total morons.  Or they are complicit.

That needed repeating.

And on Saturday we had a Labour MP Ian Austin, leading a crowd of Muslins through Dudley town centre in support of the building of a super mosque and Muslim community centre, that has come in for bitter opposition from the locals.

With the birthrate for these people being so high, is this a case of Labour coming out into the open and openly playing the long game now?

One thing is for sure though - vote Labour get Islam.

At least we don't have to let him back in. I hope his travelling companion was sat next to him.

Dewsbury is a horrid place now they all look radicalised. Groups of Daleks swanning around the big Asda there.

Had to take the wife for a minor op at Dewsbury Hospital, called in Asda to kill time. Never again.

No doubt they'll wheel out the community leaders who'll complain that it's the Government's fault.Personally i'd close down all the mosques in the country and if they don't like it they can get out.Religion is the biggest catastrophe the world has to deal with and the sooner we all give up on the mumbo jumbo the better it will be. Until that utopian dream is realised we have to put up with Christianity the national religion of England however all  other religions in this country should be banned and anyone who flouts this proposal deported.

Malik has already said on sky news something on the lines of 'where was social services etc on this one - under 18 and all that'

can you imagine social workers going into every family with an under 18 to check on their level of radicalisation.

Do they not understand that Islam is radical??

He was a straight A student, he was intelligent, he made an intelligent decision

People who thinks anyone would blow themselves just for mythical virgins...must have the intelligence of a donut in my opinion
Would they?

Yes we need to root out radical preachers who encourage this(deport them)..but these preachers need something to work on

So we need to find the grievance these people have

Just attacking Islam is totally pointless, it will only strengthen Muslim's belief
I note Islam has existed since 700 AD, yet we have only had problems with Muslims for about 25 years....
There was no problem with Islam before that

So I suggest Islam cannot be the cause, so think what else it may be?
