As much as I love my Mum and Dad,and do feel blessed they are both still alive at the ripe old age of nearly 80.I find myself getting rather frustrated when I do meet up with them because of their hearing. But am I wrong in being annoyed neither of them wants to try a hearing aid? (they are so small nowadays, and whenever I lost hearing from one ear due to swimming or a bath I wanna kill people when they mumble) Maybe I'm just getting to short fused in my old age,but having to repeat myself 4 times to 2 people I love makes me ratty. (I know and understand before someone states I am very lucky to still have parents alive,I agree) Just wish they could hear
I know what you mean, it can be incredibly frustrating but these old people have a thing called pride - or stubbornness, if you prefer - that gets in the way of a lot of life-enhancing options for them. My old man was quite deaf for many years but completely refused to consider a hearing aid, as a result he ended up feeling excluded from a lot of social situations and then getting depressed
