Stupid business model, run by stupid people.

Amazing they're still in business. Bryan must have more money than sense.

Yes, indeed. Surprised it's back at all to be honest.

jed I have met Bryan Leblanc many times, he was always ok but I wouldn't put a shekel in that firm.

I think we've had this conversation before slippy. I worked there for about a year, wasn't involved in the exchange side of it, they were trying - and failing - to set up a betting shop empire. They employed a guy to scout for premises, but they only wanted them in HNW areas. They employed me and another guy to monitor customers, but of course with one shop my working day largely consisted of chatting to people on facebook and getting very bored - for £30k a year. Any suggestions we all made were ignored, by Bryan - who thought he knew everything about everything and didn't - and by his operations manager, a totally clueless Asian guy who had been promoted from customer services phone-jockey and knew precisely nothing about the game.

I don't know how much the whole enterprise cost them, but it wouldn't surprise me if it ran to seven figures - then they made, to nobody's great surprise, about 75% of their workforce redundant.

I wouldn't say it was the most clueless operation I've ever worked for, because I have also worked at Coral and SIS, but to give you one example, they got this geezer in from a shop in Bedford to run their flagship shop in Holborn. For a start he was boss-eyed and would be talking to you while studying the celing, and for another thing, I watched him get slow-counted by the same guy twice in twenty minutes and they did absolutely nothing about it because he was Bryan's choice and he would never ever accept that his decisions could be wrong.

In short, they were a total joke, and I would bet my last fiver that they still are.

Pleasant enough guy though Bryan, had a penchant for tall Russian brasses.

The sullen Slavic look does nothing to me as it goes.

Excellent, Jed.
I've come across a few boss-eyed ones in my time and have always ended up looking over my shoulder wondering who they're talking to when they've been addressing me!

'Boss-eyed buggers' are definitely ones to avoid!

Jed I think I know who you are talking about, he's actually a good bloke. If it's who I think it is his first name begins with P.
Report jed.davison June 10, 2015 2:29 PM BST
Which one? The Asian guy or the boss-eyed slow-countee?

Neither of them began with P as far as I can recall.

I have messaged you slippy.
