There I was, 8-58 a.m. in front of the George Melly, tuned in to 130, the BBC news channel, to see what the world news had to offer on Boko Harum, ISIS, Cameron's new govt, imminent tornados, tsunamis, Libor, Cyril Smith, the triple murder in Oxford...

The coundown clock started in the bottom right corner of the screen, and at 9-00 a.m, precisely, Victoria Derbyshire, who may or may not be a geezer, went for uninterrupted FIFA news, for 45 facking minutes.

Fifa: Sepp Blatter fires PR chief over taking the p1ss on television

Fifa communications director Walter De Gregorio has been sacked after sealing his fate with a joke about the governing body on Swiss TV.

Gregorio told Swiss chat show Schawinski:
"The Fifa president, secretary general and communications director are all travelling in a car. Who's driving?
The police."

Fifa announced in a statement  that De Gregorio had "relinquished his office".
But the BBC understands he was asked to leave by president Sepp Blatter.

How dare he insult the good name of Herr Blatter.

Noticed he was staying on for the next 6 months though, on a "consultancy" basis.
Sure to be a nice little earner.
