North Korea Defence Chief Hyon Yong-chol 'executed'
North Korea's Defence Minister Hyon Yong-chol has been executed, South Korea's spy agency has told parliament, according to media reports.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported that MPs were told Mr Hyon had been killed on 30 April by anti-aircraft fire in front of an audience.
He is believed to have been accused of showing disloyalty to North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un.

would have thought there would be more job security in a socialist country, though i guess he did have a job for life, technically not a redundancy as the position is still open for applicants.

pmsl - do you believe n. Korea to be a socialist country? that Ladybird book of Politics could do with a revision/update I'd say

I heard only the other day that Hyon Yong-chol was getting some flak, but I never imagined.
The audience were only there as they couldn't get on to "Deal Or No Deal".
Apparently he fell asleep during speech..dont think that extra slice of chocolate cake after lunch was a good idea
