A small flying insect landed on the computer screen of the laptop.
I ran the mouse cursor in a circle under where it was perched on the screen (to see if it worked like swatting away a fly) and it didn't do anything for a while then fell down.
It lay on the keyboard for a few minutes and then flew off.

At first sight, this non-intrusive experiment seems to suggest a breakthrough similar in magnitude to the one made earlier by Roger The Butler. However, I could be wrong.
You know what? Sometimes, I just wonder how "non-intrusive" this experiment really was!

Joking aside, this was an observational experiment.
I moved the on screen mouse, the small insect may have decided life was painful and that could have been the final straw.

Just as well you mentioned that Pantsonfire - Inspector Morse is just starting in 5 mins on ITV 3.
Parachute - I am surmising that the fly didn't decide anything and instead reacted instinctively to vast forces outside its understanding or control...
I'm away to watch Inspector Morse now - I just hope you ain't turned third-man, third-fly, third-computer mouse in the morning.
