The DWP spends £310 Million to Re-Claim £1.1 Billion in Benefit Fraud,
However,
The DWP Underpays Claimants thanks to Mistakes by Officials by £1.6 Billion.
The Political Scientist Adam Taylor showed that the targeting of benefit fraud was disproportionate and was evidence of "government using strong-arm tactics on the weakest members of British society": the disabled and the poor.
Taylor argued that the amount of money lost to false benefit claims was small compared to the huge amount lost to Tax Fraud which he estimated costing the UK economy £150 Billion,
Yet comparatively little and in most cases Nothing at all was done to pursue Corporate Tax Evaders who currently still Defraud the people of the UK with the aid of the UK Government.

whose money?
Report pawras May 12, 2015 11:34 AM BST
If you earn/make £100, that is your money, by not paying whatever tax on it you are seeking to not hand your money over to others. However tax evasion is illegal but tax avoidance is legal.
If you defraud £100 of handouts, I view that as worse as it wasn't yours in the first place.

But it depends upon your fundamental view of earnings, if you're into socialism then you're likely to lean towards the view it's all the state's and it allows you to keep some, I however don't have that viewpoint

Given the 310M goes mostly to govt jobs, and 1.1B taken from fraudsters and given largely to genuine govt programs, there's little or nothing to criticise.

compared to the huge amount lost to Tax Fraud which he estimated costing the UK economy £150 Billion

as a political scientist there's a high probability he's talking crap, even still, it's a vague statement, does this include every non traceable cash transaction in the uk?

Nothing at all was done to pursue Corporate Tax Evader

often  because it's not actually illegal.

I love estimates of benefit and tax fraud.

How can they estimate it without knowing where it goes on?
If they know where it goes on, why don't they stop it?

It's not really clear why they can't investigate benefit fraud and tax evasion.

The UK has spent a Lot of Money on Bombs/Missiles/Rockets over the past 25 Years for "Liberation/Freedom",
Some European citizens tell me a lot of Prisoners released in The Balkan Wars were Murderers and Rapist`s.
A single medium to long-range subsonic Tomahawk cruise missile costs roughly $1.5m,
and 50kg air-to-ground Hellfire rockets cost an eye-watering $115,000 each.
Another member of the family, a shoulder-rocket called the Javelin -- at $147,000

Over 79 days, Nato warplanes dropped thousands of the most sophisticated – and expensive – bombs on dummy targets erected by Serb forces.
They hit just 13 of the Serb army’s 300 battle tanks despite Nato claims of large-scale destruction of the country’s heavy armour.
“When you’re travelling at 500mph at 15,000ft, it is easy to be fooled,” an anonymous Nato source was quoted as saying after the conflict was over.
