7 is a good solid film for me slippy. I'm a generous sort and whilst you could argue the sum of it's parts weren't the greatest some of it was very good. I especially enjoyed the sacrifice scene with The Engineer early in the film and Charlize could cause a three week old hammered down coffin lid to explode off.

The CGI in stuff like this is amazing these days. We've come a long way since the cutting edge special effects of "The Dambusters" But even video games now have effects in them that 15 years ago would have been major news as a film.
I'm enoying it so far but no way I'd take the helmet off, anyone who knows anything knows as soon as you put yourself in an environment where there may be bugs and so on your immume system can't handle .. madness.
NO spoilers EO, FOR SHAME.

Well it's not best film I've ever seen but not that bad, a little slow maybe.
It's a bit 2001-ish as I'm not quite getting what's going on in places, especially with that robot as he's not making much sense wrt to his "final mission" if it's to help his boss. And some of the decisions by crew are pretty stupid.
The woman trapped naked in the confined space with a monster was a bit unnerving, reminds me of the time I pulled in a one man tent at a festival

I really liked the idea of the little auto mapping drone things.
I'm sure that actress was on Norton a few weeks ago, and though her accent is spotless, she only started learning English a few years ago or something?

Just Checking 10 May 15 23:12 OK call me a geek but where did the baby squid thing get the biological matter from to grow to that size in a sealed room?
If you saw Alien, imo, one of the best sci-fi horror films ever made, you'd know that the alien grows at an exceedingly alarming rate and reaches its full size in under a day.

That girl is Noomi Rapace, who shot to fame in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and it's 2 sequels, back in 2009.
Anyway, is the last scene wrong? He was the only one left alive, and he was found in the chair at the helm of the ship at the start of Alien.
He was killed by the alien bursting from his chest while sitting in the helm chair, not in the medical bay, as depicted in this film.

it looks good, the mood is strong and consistent, there are some great performances and there are some memorable stand alone scenes (the caesarian probably being the highlight), but that does not make up for a diabolical screenplay which makes absolutely no sense and is littered with gaping plotholes.
