UKIP:
Almost 4m votes, nearly 13% of them , yet only one MP.
50% more votes than the Lib Dems who still managed 8 MPs.
More than 3 times the votes of the Green Party who also got one MP.
You can look at seats and say they did poorly, but more to the point 1 in every 8 people who voted went with UKIP so I think they did pretty well.
Lib Dems:
Paying the price for the coalition five years ago. But what were they supposed to do? Say "no thanks, we'll just stay a small party and never have any clout or say" and just consign themselves to relative obscurity forever with no influence? Or take the chance to be involved and try to shape things? Had they rejected the Tories they would have been destroyed for having no ambition. Yes they fecked up on tuition fees, but their demise is more to do with joining the Tories than that.
I didn't vote for either of them by the way.
Labour I don't feel sorry for. They fecked up and have a man in charge that people just couldn't believe in. I wouldn't trust him to get my order right if he served me in Burger King. Wonder what would have happened if they had opted for the other brother instead of Wallace? Fancy they might have made a great race of it.
