4 million voted for UKIP making them the 3rd largest party, only our democratic process stopped them from having more MPS.
Also for those too young or before you moved to this country, a lot of what you have been taking for granted will be swept away now the conservatives have a majority government for the first time since the 90s. Its going to be a rude awakening for some. |

The Tories are in power, so by voting for UKIP they didn't let Labour in. Ukip with nearly 4 million votes recorded telling the government that they want to leave the EU and are sick of immigration. Labour Rats unable to do any more damage to the UK for another five years. UKIP voters have plenty to shout about, while labour voters can only wonder why they lost so much support. |

The sweeping reforms made ot the legal aid service have really hurt solicitors.
You now have to bid to get contracts to do legal aid work. If you don't get a contract, you have to rely on private work, which is very tough with criminal law. My mum is a legal secretary. Her firm put in their bid last week. They find out in October if they have got a contract. If they don't, it looks like Mum's out of a job  She's been a legal secretary since she was 18. She's now 55. She knows nothing else. What chance will she have. |

Before anyone says she can get another job at another solicitors, with the contract system they are closing down everywhere. There will be no jobs. And those there are will be ultra competitive from the other secretaries whose firms have been forced to shut. There was a firm called Mackesys in London. Huge firm. Even they have collapsed under the strain.

Yes. If the firms dont get the contracts, and there's only so many awarded per region, they can't do it and have to reply on private. The whole of Kent has 7 contracts being awarded. That's 7 firms in the entire county of
kent that will be able to do legal aid work. There will be job losses galore. |

A good example of why labour voters are usually losers is Mikael D'Haguenet's last post where he gains comfort from a slight blip in their support.
In the 1997 GE labour won with 418 seats and 13,518,167 votes. Even in 1992 they got 34.4% 1992 - 34.4% 1997 - 43% 2001 - 40% 2005 - 35% 2010 - 29% 2015 - 30.4% If he can't see that labour's vote is in significantly decline on that evidence then he might consider going back to school. |
