Brough Scott
Gough Whitlam
Praise-God Barebone
Peaches Geldof
Richmal Crompton

Lester Piggott drops out of the list on account of Martin Freeman's character in Fargo.

Tokyo Sexwale disqualified on account of that not actually being his name.

I think that's the lot.

I once worked for an online bookmakers who had a customer named "Ultimate Warrior". Obviously he had to supply ID when he had a draw and he supplied his passport along with a copy of his deed poll certificate. I don't suppose it counts either, or maybe it does?

Xander de Bruyn was a Saffer who was a regular in county cricket, so Xander Kartoffel doesn't make the list, I'm afraid.

Continuing the potato theme, Maris Crane, Niles' invisible first wife in 'Frasier', would have been there but for the Piper and Peer families having got there first.

Isn't Xander just short for Alexander?

I was trying to find someone called Unique, but couldn't manage it. I'll hazard a guess there's someone in the world called Unique.

Is this the moment for Lembit Öpik to re-enter public life? Could be just the man to restore credibility for the Lib Dems.

Yes, takes me back Leazes 67. Sithole was prominent around the time Ian Smith declared UDI. Ended up in jail which left the field open for Mugabe and others. What a sithole that country has become under Mugabe. Sad

In some countries you have to name your children according to approved names.

There was a case recently of a UK couple who had emigrated to Iceland who gave their kids normal enough names but were told they wern't valid as they weren't icelandic names.
