I can, though the site had previously been blocked for about a year. It is still blocked on my office computer but can log on at home. I wish that I knew why.

Emmanuel Frimpong can place sizeable (a miracle in itself) Sportsbook bets from Russia.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3066022/Emmanuel-Frimpong-turns-Money-Man-betting-50-000-Floyd-Mayweather-beat-Manny-Pacquiao.html

I had read that Betfair had withdrawn from Russia and that internet providers had been instructed to block the site.

Now supposing he is using a VPN or a UK mobile phone...what's the legal position on the bet.  I imagine it stands but that Betfair could be fined for accepting it?

its still not technically illegal in most countries to bet and the restrictions for bookmakers are "you cant sign up bettors from our jurisdiction" or they will get into trouble.

most sites dont have options for countries that they dont serve and if they do it usually flags it up after you ave clocked it.

if a player moves country well thats not betfairs or any other bookies fault.

only firm i know who check ips are poker stars....but then oddly they allow russians to play when it is banned in russia.
play while your away on holiday in spain though and you get a slapped wrist with threat of account close with your funds then lost....

my experiences would be different, G1.....regarding betting sites rather than poker sites....they all seem to suspend immeditely if you log in from the wrong territory.
