not surprising, did you see the video?? the guy was crying out in pain and couldn't walk, yet they threw him around like a piece of meat. Reeardless of colour, animals would have been treated better.

Reeardless of colour,
For me, that's the very key to the entire police state/ethics that we're seeing in America right now. It doesn't matter what colour/race/religion the cops are, or the victims are, that's not how police are meant to behave. But the entire argument has been hijacked as "#blacklivesmatter", etc. I'm almost certain that many (most) of these cases are white on black, but that ignores the bigger picture. |

Freddie Gray Arrest Record
Gray had a lengthy arrest record with convictions dating back until at least 2007, according to the Maryland Department of Justice. Not all of the arrests led to convictions, in many of the cases he pleaded guilty to one charge while the others were dropped. Exact details of when he spent time in prison were not immediately available. His arrest record includes at least 18 arrests: •March 20, 2015: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance •March 13, 2015: Malicious destruction of property, second-degree assault •January 20, 2015: Fourth-degree burglary, trespassing •January 14, 2015: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute •December 31, 2014: Possession of narcotics with intent to distribute •December 14, 2014: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance •August 31, 2014: Illegal gambling, trespassing •January 25, 2014: Possession of marijuana •September 28, 2013: Distribution of narcotics, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, second-degree assault, second-degree escape •April 13, 2012: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, violation of probation •July 16, 2008: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute •March 28, 2008: Unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance •March 14, 2008: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to manufacture and distribute •February 11, 2008: Unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance •August 29, 2007: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, violation of probation •August 28, 2007: Possession of marijuana •August 23, 2007: False statement to a peace officer, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance •July 16, 2007: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance (2 counts) |

Police said four bicycle officers tried to stop Gray for an unspecified reason and he ran from them.
They caught him and detained him while waiting for backup. He was carrying a Knife, but Not an Illegal "Switchblade". |

Mik, my gift, to you Not sure of the significance poly. I'd actually have more time for Hitchens, were he still alive, than Moore. That said, the former was shown to be hopelessly wrong on his stance of supporting the War on Terror. |

the significance of the clip was the mindless drones coming out of the theatres, willingly and enthusiastically swallowing the propaganda whole cloth. "The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success." The time you have for hitchens is of no matter, but that you have any time at all for moore is the concern. The idea that hitchens was wrong is supported mainly by fictional moovies and fictional fed narratives. Reality and the facts tell another story, shall we look? 1. Pre 1st gulf war iraq was a stalinist orwellian cult of personality state, which carried out genocide and persecution on a vast scale, and of no interest to westerners. Much like north korea. It had a nascent nuclear weapons program and a fully developed chemical weapons program. it was a supporter of international terrorism. 2. After the invasion of kuwait, the 1st bush coalition defeated and pushed back the saddam regime and installed no fly zones and other measures to prevent genocide especially in the north. 2a. bush1 stopped short of removing saddam partly for fear of a sectarian civil war, partly in hope of a popular uprising, partly for lack of support, partly in a wait and see, partly in expectation of another term to gradually transform iraq with the least disruption. Was this a serious and disasterous miscalculation, in my opinion yes, but with the ease and benefit of hindsight. 3. Under clinton saddam was left to his own devices under the corrupt sanctions of the un which killed hundreds of thousands and allowed saddam to continue for 8 years with relative impunity. but clinton had saxophones to play, ****s to organise. 4. The 2nd bush invaded iraq (clinton 98, bush 02 resolution), war lasted around 3 weeks, occupation until Jan 05 elections, surge 07, us casualties almost nil by end of 08 4a. bush2's clear failure (once again with the benefit of hindsight) was the dissolution of the sunni baathist military and admin, so not being included many simply continued fighting under al qaeda or other groups. This blunder undermined the new state enough that iran was able to enter its proxies in opposition. The belated 07 surge and initiatives such as angbar largely reversed this and by 09 even obama declared iraq a stable state. 5. obama. declared a full withdrawal from iraq, encouraged and funded the woeful and disastrous arab spring which lead to the genocide, destruction and islamisation of syria, libya and north africa, yemen, large areas of iraq, while egypt and kurdistan barely managed to pull back from the brink. Yet obama totally failed in any support for the 09 iran people's uprising and instead sided with the mullahs. because obama had celebrity chat shows to attend, golf games to play. many, many golf games. The expected result is continued genocide and decay across the mid east and further, and the inevitable nuclear arms proliferation in iran, saudi, uae, egypt, turkey and beyond. If iraq had been supported with even a basic close air and minimal ground force, and iran opposed instead of supported, there would be no islamic state in iran, in syria, in iraq, or yemen, or nigeria, or turkey. Note I have only barely touched on iraq here, the wars in afghanistan (a war obama supported), and africa, and ukraine are another story. |
