Will not enter coalition with SNP. If he doesn't win mosts seats he is surely toast. (7-2 now to win most seats)

Minority government? He should have manned up and ruled it out a year ago.
Let's say he works with the SNP and either - It miraculously works well, why would the same voters in Scotland not vote SNP next time? - It's a disaster, so people vote Tory next time? |

He could hardly admit that he would enter into a deal with the SNP before the election, though, surely? After the vote he'll get into bed with anbody to get the keys to Number 10.

One of his few shrewd moves in my view. The Scots will vote how they will vote. There's not a great deal he can do about that now. He needs to shore up his vote in England and whilst Sturgeon has herself been popular in the campaign her party are not popular in England and the English don't want that tail wagging the dog. Milliband rules out a coalition and he appears decisive. If the SNP do get in excess of 50 seats and the Labour vote does hold in England then the maths may not be there for the Tories to form a coalition which gets them over the line. Which gives Labour a chance to form a minority government. There is no credible scenario which I can see whereby the SNP would vote to bring down a Labour government implementing their manifesto. It may not be red meat enough for Sturgeon but there are several policies which she will see as better than the coalition has produced.
So even some way from a majority Milliband could run a successful minority government. Which presupposes that there won't be a late swing anyway to the Tories who whilst in coalition are in effect seen as the incumbents but Milliband has to play the hand he is dealt. |

My problem with Mr. Cameron is his position about EU. We need an EU ruled by the UK and Germany, and not only by the germans. And EU markets and very important for british economy. I want to listen british voices ruling Europe. |

spend yes but things were going fine till bankers started to take risks to get higher bonuses......that issue cant really be pinned on nay government of any country...apart from america... raise taxes...."we will not raise taxes" was the reason why labour got in under blair...they blatantly lied corruption....well isnt offering a lower price on lloyds shares a form of corruption...i disagree with this move as the govenment asked lloyds to help out a bank around the time of subprime and lloyds then got more caught up in the mess....to then use this a a carrot for voters is scandalous imo....any profits should be used to lowert eh deficit they failed to deal with adequately....maybe they should let their buy to lets take a hit....i suspect they wont and i wonder why  |

To get a wedge of shares away, the seller needs to offer them at a discount. The Alliance are proposing to offer the Lloyds shares to the public instead of cosy deals with institutions. Nothing wrong with that (except they need to get re-elected to implement it) and the money raised from the sale goes into Treasury coffers regardless of who buys the shares.
