it's nice winning a grand padora but i am absolute gutted, god as my witness, 43 was the last number i picked but before I did, i was dithering over 43, couldn't have picked both but that hurts
was a rollover as well, would have been the only person to win 5 million

I remember back in 2001, I had 4 numbers come up which got me £125. However, I also had the bonus ball and "6". If that "6" was a "5" I would have won £125,000. It was a shame because £125 is a good win (I was 16 so £125 was a lot of money) but I couldn't enjoy it as I kept thinking how close I was to a life-changing win.

SH - I know exactly how you feel squire...I had 5 numbers and got £1805 back off that a few years ago and I was called all the lucky bastards going by a few people! I was absolutely filleted by that as I had a few grand in the bank at the time (so I really didn't need it THAT much compared to many other times) and even the bonus number would've got me around £267K if I remember correctly - I'm not greedy in wanting the big one...I would've settled for the bonus ball as it would've changed my life!
I can't remember what the big one paid but I expect it was huge as £1805 for 5 numbers is better than most people get, and over a quarter of a million for the bonus was a big dividend too.
I've sulked since and never played it because I feel like I used up my lifetime's luck with that lucky dip and I never pay attention to it any more

But it only goes to show what a rip off the lottery really is, it's about 55000/1 to get five numbers up yet they pay out at not much more than 500/1.

I was in a four people syndicate &around 15 years ago, we also got 5 numbers but as we had a perm of 8 numbers we got it three times but it paid a paltry £695, that was not the worst of it, I was watching it & the bonus ball came out & we had number six & for a split second I thought we had it but it was number nine
