I'm not sure whether UKIP have a special "Attenborough must in future have cardboard animals in a TV studio" policy in the manifesto, but to be truthful I haven't looked yet.

I would imagine there is massive scope though for a streamlined BBC, when one alone considers the massive duplication of news across all present formats. The corporation should of course be carrying out that cull themselves. It shouldn't require an outsider to make those straightforward and long-overdue changes.

The "BBC Asian Network" should be one of the very first things to go of course. When I last looked Britain was part of Europe, not Asia. We don't have a BBC Europe Network station, nor do we need one. There is already a long-established BBC World Service in place which can be heard by many across the globe. I listened to sport on the BBC World Service, for example, last time I was in Hong Kong.

Loads of scope for straightforward and sensible cuts. Get on with it.

If people want to listen to Asian, African, European, Australasian, American etc programmes, they can do so 24 hours a day over the Internet if they choose.  You can also watch and listen to all sorts of recorded material and broadcasts from those countries.

Just watched what should be a simple programme format: Interviewer vs Party Leader Politician, just one of each, on BBC2. No graphics. No action. No reason to even be a TV programme when it was all talk.
