No need to pay vet charges, simply take the afflicted animal, place in a bag with some bricks and drop in a nearby canal or river. The creature will suffer from it's ailments no longer.

I spent 6 k last year and I still lost my dog. I know it was crazy but I would of tried anything. If you have a dog you may understand .

I'm up to £8,200 so far for my Muttley. £7,500 was my insurance cover and he has an 11 hour chemo session on Friday which will be about another grand that I'll have to pay out of my own pocket.

I wish someone would stick you in a bag and lob you in the canal Big Issue. You won't be missed, trust me on that.

A 1 hour swimming session and a bit of physio is a ton. The MRI scan was £2,500 alone.

About five years we brought a hamster, on the second day of having her I decided to let her have a run around the living room, all she did though was to plonk herself underneath the sofa. They only way I could get her out was to move it a bit, when all of a sudden I her scream, when I got hold of her, her leg was snapped at a right angle.
 I took her straight to the vets and paid £70 for her leg to be amputated (She'd only cost £8 a day earlier.) I'm glad I did though because she was a fantastic little pet.My dog got ran over last year and that cost about £1000 to get her treated. I've never insured her but after each visit to vets I tell myself I should do it. |

I always wind the wife up about the dogs but anybody who has them and loves them knows that you'd go the extra mile for them.

you should never have a dog if you can't afford it ,i would love a dog but i know i would struggle to pay the vets bills

When I bought my dog 6 years ago the insurance was £17 each month.
Sadly he has developed epilepsy over the last 18 months and has one or two other less serious conditions  .Last year I was paying £70 each month. This year, from June onwards I will be paying £138 each month. I don't know whether to pay it or just pay the vet's fees and medication and cancel it. |

I'm not biting J, well nobody knows what being a dog owner involves unless they are a part of your world. My username is a greyhound! Good to see you back B-B, I know what you have been through mate. I lost my Mum, I'm not losing my Muttley as well. Hope all is good with you

I'd cancel for that price 10pins, just put it to one side each month to pay any fees that might come along.

s,kenbo, I pay £29 a month for a £7,500 cover which I've gone over, it was with Homebase. They refunded every bill straight away with no fuss and have reinsured him even though Muttley is only 3 and is still struggling. He can walk ok now just about but has a spinal infection that stops his hind legs from functioning as the messages from the brain still aren't getting through properly. What can ye do? He is my Muttley, I have to look after him.

Funny old game. Having nursed I find it difficult to let the water go when family members shuffle off this mortal coil but I can sob with the best of em when an old and much loved canine friend looks up at me for that last time and then rests his weary head down for the big sleep.

It's the strangest thing isn't it slippy? Most peculiar is often I don't have a build up. I remember getting to the dog crematorium carrying one of the dogs and I was fine. I got out of the car and picked her up in my arms and suddenly from nowhere it was like the big fella had reneged on his promise not to send another flood.
