Katie Hopkins will be celebrating tonight.

as will a few on here i suspect

Britand and France should never have helped in Libya, this is what the West don't understand about Arabic countries, they should stop meddling, they may have evil dictators in the land of sand who keep everyone in line, but once they're gone, what you have is complete anarchy, it's a kind of lose-lose situation, history should teach everyone that it's best to accept the lesser of the two evils rather than fight them both.

You can hire a 40 foot container for about £16 a week.

Have it stuffed with lifejackets.

Ship it to Libya.

Fly over and set up shop on the beach.

Sell them for double what the cost of shipping is, divided by the number of lifejackets in the container.

WHICH IS PEANUTS TO WHAT THEY PAY TO GET ON BOATS THAT WILL PROBABLY SINK.

Save lives and make money.

And they call me racist, tut tut.

Correct. Such is the arrogance of those western countries. They do not understand the huge cultural differences that exist. Such that when they think they are a' helping ' they are in fact making matters potentially worse for those people in the future.

Disagree, there is no actual evidence of any culture in a lot of these countries. It is the duty of the more advanced western countries to uphold human rights if possible throughout the world.

Suggest you do some reading.

not sure what the point of this thread is but it is an horrific incident & just seems to keep happing to one degree or another. i do feel that these desperate people and the italian authorities need help and fast.
along with the americans we really have caused a sh1t storm.

Maybe. But whose interpretation of 'Human Rights' should one attempt to withhold? Many factions have little desire for our ideals.
It would help if we could stop constantly assuming (or believing) that our way is right. It isn't. It's certainly not right for everybody.

Sorry. My reply was to LFC1971.

i doubt any of us posting on a betting site can understand what it takes to risk everything
to pack up what little you have and leave your home just for a shot at some sort of life.
they aint stupid enough to think it won't be hard if they do make it europe.

naydom

Human rights exist outside and apart from the boundaries of a country..in fact they exist above and apart from any human structure.

Hope this helps.

Oh I see.

It's OUR fault again.

And there was me thinking it was down to the barbaric profiteers in human misery who put the poor sods in an over-filled colander and charged them a kings ransom for the privilege.

Just as long as I'm crystal fking clear on where the blame lies.

As a white English man I'd like to take full responsibility for all of the problems in the world.  I'm very sorry.

LFC. We are getting off-topic...but I believed that 'Human Rights' are earned, not gifted.

Peculiar thing is the rainbow nation of south africa has been having a bit of trouble recently,
Black on Black murder and violence against immigrants.
Is this racicm, tribalism just a bit of old nonsense or is it only white folks who have to feel guilty for the sins of our fathers our fathers fathers our incompetent political class and the tinpot dictators of every other country on the planet.

a Bangladeshi man who survived told reporters: '"With me were men, women and children from Algeria, Egypt, Somalia, Nigeria, Senegal, Mali, Zambia, Bangladesh and Ghana." Have the Brits fcked up all of these countries?

btw

naydam human rights are neither earned or gifted....they exist outside and independent of people.

They are similar to mathamatical formula which exist before men discover them.

As my dad would have said this is what happens when you let tribes
run countries, you get bigger racial problems.
I would imagine these are 1 generation independant coutries
so you still have all the original tribal problems, and that's why
they think leaving for a better life in Europe is worth the risk.
But then again what i've posted will be regarded as racist as it was my
Dad view of what would happen having served in Palestine.

Its our fault for letting them stay. If we just immediately took them all back again they would soon get the message and no more would drown.

LFC. Human Rights are only granted if you are willing to stand up, be counted and, if necessary, put your life on the line. You have to fight for them. These silly bureaucrats in Brussels think you can just hand them out willy-nilly. They have totally lost track of the people who died in the struggles to attain this position.
Running away from ISIS or any other despotic regime will never achieve real-world human rights! You have to earn them.

I must agree to differ with you on this point, but I don't like hi-jacking threads so the last word is yours if you wish.

Was a stupid point that KH made originally but that's her style.
Pity the media give her a platform to air her views.
Restrict the evil cow to social media sites only and give the trolls a pass to attack her.

Their are really only 3 options, 1]status quo 2] a naval blockade to escort ships
back to libya or  3] escort them to safety in Lampedusa.
