Some years ago there was a play on T.V. which ended with thousands of Africans standing on the North coast of the continent looking longingly across the Med to Europe. It has now come true with many prepared to risk death rather than live in their conflict riven home countries. It goes without saying that the E.U. does not know what to do about a crisis that is likely to get much worse as now its not just Africans but also refugees from the Middle East.
p.s from memory I think the cause in the play was famine and drought rather than war . End result the same.
10000 this month alone, if evenly split between the EU countries its only 400 each.the problem of course is that most want to go to Germany Sweden Denmark or the U.K.

I vaguely recall watching that film, Sica - can't remember it's name either but would like to see it again.
I thought at the time, "This will happen someday".
It's starting to now and we need to get ready for the tide.
