Lenient sentence imo.

Not as lenient though, as the sentence for this piece of scum.

How in God's name can they call this "manslaughter"?

The guy had his hands in his pockets and this young thug attacked and punched him from behind. And the victim was Scottish.

while there is a place for the offence of manslaughter, it is vastly overused and hundereds of creatures escape a fully deserved murder charge each year by this loophole.    ' .. on grounds of diminished responsibility'  is another crock of sh1t i'm tired of seeing.

It`s the way they were brought up. It`s not a coincidence that the parents of all the neds about here were neds themselves and that the decent kids have decent parents. Lot of people unfit to have a dog let alone kids.

the saddest thing is the poor baby who'll now spend half of 17 months plus however long it takes him to sweeten the social services before she'll see her father again. The nquestion 1 is going to be 'Daddy where have you been for 2-3 years' to which the only honest answer is 'oh sorry darling, I decided that rather than just throw this guy out, its more important to take revenge than be a part of your life'.
the only thing that's more shocking than people who can;t control their temper and are obcessed with violent revenge are the sympathisers like bike boy here who think what he's done is applauable. Zazu, you're a moron!

He'll be out within the year and a 2 yr old will have no idea hes been in jail...

Im sure the guy who got inebriated whilst babysitting a toddler was otherwise a model citizen.

As for the manslaughter one. What should be charged with?

completely irrelevent. Also you clearly have no idea how difficult it is to shake off social services. I guarantee you he won't be allowed to see the kid for months after he's out, and that's only if the mother is onside AND he plays ball with some patronising social worker. Based on the evidence of his ability to control himself, i'd say the chances of that are somewhere between nothing and 0. You also clearly have no idea of the percetive abilities of toddlers. He's now lost the bonding time during the 0-2 age which is critical for gaining the trust and respect they need to have for their father as they grow up. And that's without even touching on your advocation of the kind of violence that breaks every bone in a man's face. Who the hell are you to judge what kind of person he is. What if he's not, what if he's got his own kids who had to go and visit him in hospital while his face was in pieces. I notice the article doesn't actually mention whether the guy was lightly tipsy or falling over. You've made up half the story in your own head!
