What happens if you take the SIM card out of the iPhone 5?

Or swap the SIM cards over, perhaps?

just swapped sims not compatible with each other.

Can't help with technicalities I'm afraid, but I've got iphone 6 plus and it's brilliant.

I went to CarPhone Warehouse in Leeds. I get unlimited tests and minutes, and I got 4 something bites of internet coverage, which I thought was a lot but after 10 days or so it said I was running low. A very kind lady at EE put me up to 20 of those bite things at no extra charge, which is more than enough. I also can send 100 photos a month without charge, not that I will use anything like that. So best posibly to contact EE, if that's who you might go with and ask them about that as it won't be on at the stors I would imagine.

Pay about £39 a month but did leave about £180 deposit.

A fabulous phone, so quick. I must be only using a fraction of what it's capable of. Make sure you get 4g not 3g.

You'd be much better off buying the phone outright Kenny, then going on a SIM only contract for about a tenner a month. I think I get 1000 minutes a month, unlimited texts a 100 something of internet each month for £12. I know you can get cheaper than that too.

you aint getting 100 Gb yor getting 100 Mb s.kenbo , (1 gig = 1000 meg)

Giffgaff (o2) 300 mins and unlimted texts (who needs unlimted texts  ) £7.50 is what i have and have an older  Galaxy .

But the 4g thing is not comapring apples wi apples and depends where you are ,EE had a head start on everyone and is best 4g but depends what you are doing as all are using diff bands ect  .2O Gig is good but is prob about  3hr streaming imo

Overall its a minefield and often diff to get the best deals ,know folks that want the latest phone and upgrade and have all sorts but are paying 70+ a month .

If you have BT broadband, you should check out the bt mobile deals. They now own ee.

No I think it is Mb, The only thing I ever check on my phone is Sporting Life for the odd result now and then.

I have always bought the phones. I have a Samsung galaxy Note 2 now and previously had a Samsung S2. Each time I have priced up the options and it has always been cheaper for me to buy the phone. I guess it depends upon usage. If you are a heavy user of minutes and data then the unlimited angles might make that the cheaper option. I would think that there would be many more people paying over the odds and not using all their minutes and data allowances than paying for what they actually use.

I don't see any good reason for minutes and data to expire each month. The government had so much dough out of them for the 3G licenses, that they have probably turned a blind eye to the dodgy practise to date.

Taken onboard your comments Stow_judge as I think your talking a lot of sense. Made my mind up to buy it outright.

Now for a really daft question as it's been so long since my last iphone I can't remember.

Does your phone number come with the phone or when you buy the sim card on contract.

The phone number comes with the SIM card. You can keep an existing number by telephoning your supplier and asking for A PAC code. You them give that PAC code to your new supplier (within ca. 20 days) and they provide you a new SIM card on their network with your old number.
If you have an old style big SIM card, you can cheaply buy a cutter on ebay that cuts your old SIM card down to the required new size. Each phone you buy accepts a particular sized SIM card, (e.g.Micro on nano), and you should be able to find this info about your new phone using make & model on the interweb.

£100 for handset then £23/month for unlimted texts, 1000 mins calls, and 2GB of data

(that's for a 16GB iphone 6)
