bbc radio coverage of masters tends to be good sat and sun, not worth listening too before then, imo

their coverage of the world extreme ironing championships was exemplary

My unfailing support for the BBC doesn't extend to its sports' coverage. TMS aside, and even that is losing its way, the Beeb are completely useless in this area.

Match of the Day is the worst offender - there's not even a game clock on the highlights! 50 years behind the U.S.

So in summary lots of masters debating on the radio but few shots last night.

I think the main problem is they're not allowed on course that much to follow the action, so they had someone watching Tiger, someone watching Speith, and someone on the last group. Other than that it was largely guesswork. I didn't even hear Rickie Fowler's name mentioned once until the final green despite being in the last group.

I didn;t listen to the golf on 5Live but I'm surprised to hear it was bad, I usually find 5Live to be much better than TV and papers for sport. It's just those morons on the breakfast show that wind me up but then I suppose that's the point of them isn't it!

At least it was on last night. Barely even on tonight - Masters will be over by the time they turn the run-of-the-mill Division Two match off.
