Sad to hear he's gone, excellent supporting actor in many notable films of the 70's (which will forever be the best decade for movies of course - and what a period of complete dross we're in at the moment! ).
Especially remember him for High Plains Drifter and Salem's Lot (which was VERY scary for kids at the time!) Also watch out for him in the very quirky Italian western My Name Is Nobody. Aye, they were the days...now we're lost to an endless barage of explosions, pointless (& inferior) remakes, cgi and charmless animation.
