Hoping to do the cape town to joburg all inclusive first class train thing next Jan. £200 for about 36 hours and that is in a cheap country. And that is NOT the Blue Train which is over a grand each way, god only knows what you get for that.

I like the Indian railways stuff (BBC4 is excellent btw) but I find Portillo so creepy, I can't watch him!

I'm watching at the half time break (Palace 1 - Man City 0), it's absolutely fascinating to get an understanding of India which cricket and curries aside I know virtually nothing.

Sure it is great but at over a grand one way not for a decade or three. Cheapo train is only thirty quid.
