Did any people you knew have them. Old school friend had them, and then someone else I knew had five flying ducks.

They also were pretty posh, as they had curtain pelmets made of hardboard and painted.
Most people had them just straight, but Billy Purser's parents had them with a most tasteful curvy bottom.

A mate of mine's mother had about every single piece of tat ever advertised in the pages of sunday papers magazines.
Full set of elvis plates, birdsong clock (chimed with different bird each hour) mini cottages on window ledge, tiny Eiffel tower on fireplace etc etc

I often looked at all the junk and said you could just open a bin liner and walk along one wall and fill it dragging the crap from it.

My parents had them over the fireplace.

Does anybody remember the plastic horse and rider you stuck on the wall?

The horse is half way over a fence and is black with a gold edge, and has gold reins. The rider is dressed in hunting red, with a gold cap and a black face, his bots are black and gold, all with a gold edge.

Anybody remember Gaiety boxes? (not sure of the spelling as google drew a blank)
On the wall with miniature plates and etc. They were all the rage and I'm sure if someone had the 'fancy' pelmet they had one of these. Laugh

Hadn't a clue what you were talking about until I went on your link spelling.
I have seen them before but fortunately not in either my home or my parents.
Not sure where I've seen it though it must have been a long time ago.

That one is on the side of a wardrobe in a spare bedroom.
It was the wife's grandmothers.
