First for ten years, one of the best three standups of the last twenty odd years for my money. Should be an hour long laugh fest.

Lead Balloon has been the best comedy show on the bbc in the past 10 years.Very funny guy.

I like jack but this is not very good.
After Eddie Izzard ending his career earlier on the bbc tonight i think will are left with the scripted comedians now. |

Laughed a few times, but way off his peak here. When they start spending half their show doing jokes about parenthood it means they've lost it imo.

Comedians should make you laugh. It doesn't matter how clever, fast, witty,boundary pushing, observational they are if they dont make you laugh they're no good.

I didn't think he was very funny, and the musical bit at the end was boring.

Cyril Nicholas Henty-Dodd[1] (28 July 1935 – 29 August 2009[2]), better known by his stage name Simon Dee, was a British television interviewer and radio disc jockey who hosted a twice-weekly BBC TV chat show, Dee Time, in the late 1960s. After moving to London Weekend Television (LWT) in 1970, he was dropped and his career never recovered. Following a brief marriage to the singer Petula Clark[3] Dee became best known through through their son James Rupert Henty-Dodd (born 24 September 1961), who adopted the stage name Jack Dee as a tribute to his late father.

Mr Beneatthewaves-it is a well known fact in show business that Petula Clark never wanted to appear on the Simon Dee Show in the 1960s (she was very popular at the time) because she believed that wives should never work with their husbands!

Ken fell out with his sister after she covered his original version of Downtown.

Mr Beneaththewaves- so upset was Ken with Petula (I have to correct you she was not Ken's sister but sister in law) because she covered Downtown, that he recorded Tears about his feelings for the matter and he recorded The River because he thought that is where she should be thrown.
I hope this enhances the pop music of the 60s knowledge of all forumites. |

He was a chat show a few weeks back. It was funny when he escaped from the Big Bother house, walked for a bit and found himself in Stratford, Newham. He ran back to the BB house.
