Imagine my surprise when perusing the latest stamp collection on offer from the Royal Mail.
'A set of 10 first class stamps depicts some of the nation’s most popular, and funniest, comedians.'
The list of said comedians is:
Spike Milligan,
the Two Ronnies,
Billy Connolly,
Morecambe and Wise,
Norman Wisdom,
Peter Cook and Dudley Moore,
The Monty Python team,
French and Saunders,
Victoria Wood,
AND
Lenny Henry

I would've thought it more appropriate to have The Goons rather than Milligan on his own. And what about the Dad's Army cast?
Obviously just about everyone in the country who has called themselves a comedian could and should have taken the place of Lenny Henry. |

Everyone I've ever met who doesn't call themselves a comedian, including a small number of Frenchies, deserves to be on a stamp more than Lenny Henry.
