Closure of Betfair Community 6th May
Today we are announcing the closure of the Betfair Forums. It will close, in five weeks, at 12pm on Wednesday 6 May. All of us at Betfair understand this news will be disappointing for regular users.
The Beftair Forums are extremely popular on digital platforms. More than 8,000 users regularly visit every week, and more and more are talking about Betfair on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
Amid that growth, traffic to the forums has reduced greatly. While there are around 8,000 regular visitors to the forums, the number of people who contribute actively has dropped below a thousand.
The Betfair Forums have been a rich, witty and fun space over the last decade and we acknowledge the strength of the community. We hope that you continue to contribute to discussions elsewhere online.
We will still be listening to you and we welcome feedback via this post, on our Facebook page and through Twitter. All feedback will be collated and shared with our team.
The forum's vast archive will remain online. We're giving notice so that you can make plans to migrate to alternative forums and spaces, say goodbye to fellow Betfair forum users and discuss this move.
We will respond to comments and questions about the closure on later in the week.

How anyone could fall for this is beyond me. I should think that it would be betfair who would post an official notice if they were going to close the forum, and they would make it sticky.
Maybe some thought that MrNibbs was posting a C&P of a message that betfair had sent him? But in that case they would have to send one to everyone. Why would they do that when they could just post one message on each forum for all to read?

Crags lighten up summers just round the corner ( its not a joke either ) 
We have the power to close Betfair Community at any time - all we need to do is to agree to stop posting here and go elsewhere for best cover version, sportswoman to date and basics baked beans opinions.
Why don't we all just stop posting on 7th May anyway to see if we can do it?
It would also show Betfair they can't take us for granted and use us a marketing lure for new customers.

When I first saw it I thought it an April Fools prank (please note TSO an) but after reading it checked it wasn't a c&p job from Announcements. 
I know but at least I was too clever by half to fall for that Sting one.
