My housemate, stupidly, left her wallet somewhere in our corridor with the flat front door open as she went to her car. Wallet has been stolen and she has checked and £350 was spent at Iceland supermarket. The pig next door had a massive order from Iceland delivered this morning. Surely this is bang to rights aye? They can link the paypal account with the iceland order and the iceland order can be linked to the neighbour's address.
Luckily for her the police are a bit too busy investigating an alleged homophobic tweet to someone who is rumoured to be a homosexualist, so absolutely no chance of your neighbour's theft being investigated I'm afraid. Wrong type of crime.

Well, if the info given is correct, there should be no problem in proving the case. Has she taken the matter to the police? Did she report the theft of the wallet? This is just too simple to be true. Is she actually doing anything about it?

House mate is away with her sister won't be back until really late. They have reported to the police. Hopefully just need to get in touch with Iceland to get confirmation of delivery address associated with the purchase.

So now he will get a criminal record and all for the sake of a skip load of food from Iceland, the mind boggles. That's assuming he doesn't have one already of course.

It is a she. I presume. Just wondering how a lawyer can get her out of it, I mean they have lots of tricks. I mean she will surely have given a false name. In fact I was also wondering what if she got it delivered to my flat but then intercepted it at the front door and brought it all up so that the delivery guy didnt even check which flat it went to. Then we would have to rely on the actual delivery guy identifying the neighbour as the one who collected the food. In which case we have to act fast before he forgets.
Really p1ssed off at my housemate for being so stupid.

They're the most unhelpful company on the internet so don't expect much from them
The Proof will be on her phone/ laptop that she ordered from but the delivery should be investigated before she flogs it all off to her mates

As a student of tv detective shows from Inspector Clueso, to scuby du, to that floppy haired bloke who lived in some sort of tower, I consider myself something of an expert. the truth of this caper will shock you all. Firstly, the wallet could never have been left in the corridor for various reasons I won't go into. In fact, rob dylan had already intercepted the wallet in an elaborate plan too elaborate to go into at this moment in time. He then went on to have "a massive order from Iceland" but was still at this point coherent enough to realise sending it to his own address would be too insane so had it sent to his unsuspecting next door person at a time his next door person was usually out. The whole sordid plot became unravelled when his next door person arrived home early from his or her volunteer job at the society for helping animals out, the delivery was intercepted and taken away to his or her other volunteer job of donating food and stuff to homeless people. Trouble is, there was a load of doubloons missing from the bosses stash, and rob's on his last warning like, he can't go to the coppers for obvious reasons so he concocts a scheme where he writes up a report on ChitChat thinking no one would doubt that sort of credibility, completely unaware some meddling kid would rumble his plan.

I was thinking the same thing polybot but just couldn't put my finger on it. One should always be suspicious of those pointing the finger of guilt at others. Good detective work. Are you anywhere near Portugal btw.

I also pondered for a long while at the story of a housemate, stupidly, leaving her wallet somewhere in a corridor with the flat front door open as she went to her car
How long is this mysterious corridor & how far does she have to walk to her car , assuming she came straight back as soon as She realized Her Wallet was missing

This reminds me of a workmate who gave their ATM card and password to a mate to withdraw cash. They withdrew the cash, left the card in the ATM, and the password on a piece of paper at the ATM. You can guess the rest.
Don't blame others for your* stupidity *or the stupidity of "a friend"/"someone I know"/"housmate"/"acquaintance"
