First the bad news : your son will have to pay Class A National insurance contributions to the government of £18.70 per week

Now the good news : I have absolutely no idea what I am talking about

hope this helps

tell him to NOT to sign off when signed on the govt pay your NI if the govt stop paying your JSA or any other benefit for whatever reason THEY STILL HAVE TO PAY YOUR NI

IF YOU SIGN OFF THEY DONT PAY FCKALL

thats not a problem at the moment as loads of OAPS are on pension credits meaning they get the same pension as someone who has worked all their lives

but beware this may change in the future but very unlikely unless all the do gooders get rounded up and shot

best thing is get a council house dont do no work the govt pay your rent benefits etc blah blah blah

you reach retirement age the govt and council have still got duty of care so guess what it goes on and on

I'm struggling with this at the moment - I worked for just over 20+ years, signed on for a few months, signed off cos I couldn't be arsed trying to make out I was looking for a job and now I do nothing. However I believe if family allowance is in your name then contributions are made on your behalf
I did apply for a NI contribution statement about 15 months ago but I suppose I'm expecting a bit too much to have it arrived by now
