BB, aka, I saw Freddie at the Odeon Hammersmith (now the Appolo).saw Beck when he was with the Yardbirds at the Craw Daddy Richmond, The Stones were the resident group, after releasing "Come on" they left for bigger things and the Yardbirds replaced them. The Moody blues replaced the Yardbirds. Our local group was The Who, the played The Goldhawk club Shepherd bush most weeks.
I was really lucky to see the Ronnie lane inspired Arms concert at the Albert hall in 1983, Beck did a set, then Clapton, then Jimmy Paige came on and made them look very ordinary, he positively made the guitar sing, the other two plucked notes if that makes sense. Fantastic concert, other notable names there were Steve Winwood, Andy Fairweather Low, Bill Wyman, Kenney Jones and Charlie Watts, and otherss. Happy days
