They kept a lid on it. You can't beat the cistern.

"Historic" so no doubt she was there.
I'd personally like them to investigate present day cover-ups, but as that would tread on toes, i won't hold my breath. |

but will they catch a live one!!???
|
|
By:
It's a bit like how I used to bat as an opener. Go out and see off the fast bowlers without scoring much - do it long enough then they lose interest or give up trying to get you out!!!!

mobo
but will they catch a live one!!??? That's the whole idea of looking at historical cover-ups. keeps them away from the 'live ones' until they're gone and can then be investigated. It's a well trusted MO. |

the met will continue to investigate anyway
it will also lead the IPCC who I understand do not have the powers to call people to give evidence they cannot force anyone so what has really changed?? the children's commissioner is the same it is just a good old boys stitch up you can all dance on my grave when the first person is sent to jail !!!! |

The Met are distrusted by other police forces (well, Yorkshire at least) who consider them corrupt and arrogant.
The Met have certainly done their best to suppress London nightlife for the last 40 years (a late licence not easily granted). Compared to the rest of what they getting up to in the Seventies, covering up child abuse may be low on the list of sins. But who is going to investigate? |
|
By:
sad, but it seems as if they are investigating themselves !!! im on unders in the arrest stakes....
|
|
By:
The MP Tom Watson who has been all over this, seems happy about them investigating (not meself) Latest:

it does seem to make sense now, big fat cyril was left to carry on his dirty work as it was thought he may spill the beans on other
high ranking scumbags if he got pulled in !!. this so called meeting of plod being told to destroy notebooks and evidence could be EXPLOSIVE if proven. just need more people to come forward now. |
|
By:
It leaves the suspicion in people's minds that it goes to the top of the tree so needs to be cleared up quickly and openly.
|
|
By:
Others might think this is deliberately muddying the waters to keep attention off the actual rapists (and murderers by some accounts, which may be unreliable). Switch the focus to the cover-up until the politicians have passed on.

Almost as good as the northern police missing thousands of abuse cases because 'We were too busy trying to achieve targets in other areas.'

Was specifically burglaries although that might have been as a result of someone's bad spelling.

.. blades, i think big fat cyril was kept out of the picture because of what he knew about these abusers, indeed tonight it was even implied he may have actually been involved in the supply of the youngssters, i dont think he neccesarily had friends in high places, but i may be wrong. its just a shame hes not around to face the music.!! |
|
By:
Nobody will face the music from Parliament or the police force.

i cant see how any police officers can be held to account if they were threatened with the official secrets act.
i do however think that if there are any sex offenders still alive ( in this case ) they may well be found out..eventually. |
